Business Development Manager


In this position you will be in charge of developing a strategic business plan and targeting key clients in order to win MEP projects. 

Role

• To secure new sources of viable business and will be required to take the company in to previously undeveloped areas of the fit out industry
• Developing new business relationships, generate and negotiate new revenue streams for the company.
• Will be required to use business contacts and relationships to ensure that the company is always aware of upcoming projects 
• The role will require networking to enhance the company commercial network
• To promote and maintain a high level of visibility for Company’s services and brand and coordinate public relations related efforts
• Present the company to potential clients using different types of communication; including face to face meetings, presentations, telephone calls, emails etc
• Complete pre-qualification procedures with potential clients and consultants
• Act as a representative of the company at key exhibitions, conferences and networking events.
• Adopt a team approach; work with others in pursuing common goals 
• To maintain high level relationships with the Company’s existing clients and partners
• This is a senior role that reports directly to the General Manager and holds responsibility for the assessment and execution of all potential business opportunities generated.
New Business Development
• Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
• Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
• Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
• Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
• Research and build relationships with new clients.
• Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders Principals.
• Work with tendering and estimation team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
• Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
• Present an image that mirrors that of the client.

Client Relation

• Enhance existing relationships.
• Work with the tendering / estimation staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
• Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
• Prepare and submit prequalification document details with all relevant details.
• Invite customer representatives to visit SWME current project / office etc

Business Development Planning

• Attend exhibitions , industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
• Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
• Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

Management Research

• Submit weekly / monthly progress reports to GM and ensure data is accurate.
• Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met on a quarterly basis.
• Ensure that study is made when we loose the bid and do analysis on the costing along with the Estimation / Tendering Manger to rectify our pricing structure and to identify our failures.
• Research and develop a thorough understanding of the competitors business strategies , pricing and their capabilities.
• Understand the company’s goal and purpose so that will continual to enhance the company’s performance.


Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements

• A strong network of contacts in KSA and have previously worked in a Business Development / Marketing role for a leading contractor /MEP company in KSA.
• Prior MEP experience is a MUST
• Strong sales skills background
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Valid KSA driving licence
• Related industry know-how and experience
• Must be available to start with short notice
• Existing local network is a plus

Skills
• A degree in either an electrical engineering or mechanical engineering discipline.

• At least 10 – 12 years of experience in a business development environment within the construction / MEP sector.
• Knowledge and experience within the Construction / MEP of Public and private entities and potential clientele.
• Arabic and English language skills are required.
